The Beyond Preliminary Phonics 3 (Upper Primary) Set comprises a Teacher Wordbook and Student Workbook required for the teaching of the next 40 phonetic sounds (163-202). Knowledge of the phonetic sounds is necessary for reading and spelling competence. The Teacher Wordbook 3 provides 40 phonetic sounds and their accompanying word lists. A new sound is introduced each week in the 40 week school year. The Student Workbook comprises weekly Literacy tasks to accompany each new sound and word list. The teacher pretests students on the phonic list and assigns individual spelling words for focus.
